The Shrine of Christ's Passion

"In the quiet town of St.  John, Indiana there is a place where you can walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.  Every year this amazing Shrine draws thousands of people from all over the world.  The Shrine of Christ's Passion, is a beautiful, interactive half-mile winding pathway of 40 life-size bronze figures depicting the life of Jesus Christ from the Last Supper to His glorious Ascension.  Renowned Texas artist, Mickey Wells, designed and cast the life size sculptures that grace the Prayer Trail.  The one of a kind 6,000 sq. ft. exquisite Gift Shoppe carries an incredible variety of unique gifts, books, and artwork is in fact a work of art in itself!  There is no charge to experience The Shrine of Christ's Passion!

The Shrine provides an intimate environment for mental, physical and spiritual renewal.  The fifteen acre site was designed to reflect the period of time when Jesus was alive as well as the geographic landscape, typical of an arid climate.  Pilgrims experience as never before the Passion of Christ beginning with a Last Supper scene, the Garden of Gethsemane and then journey through His Passion.  Hauntingly beautiful music sets the tone as guests wander along the entire trail.  Each scene provides a listening station where with the push of a button visitors can listen to a description  and a short meditation recorded by the famous Chicago broadcast journalist Bill Kurtis.
